Aman Machine Tools

Aman Machine Tools is located right in the Industrial Estate, very close to the Sadar Thana. Being near the police station makes it pretty easy for people to find us, even if they aren't from around here. We’ve got a workshop that’s always smelling a bit like oil and cold metal. That’s just the way a machine tool place should be, honestly. It’s a bit of a gritty environment, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. My father started things here, and we’ve just kept it going. We don’t have a big office or anything like that; mostly it’s just the floor where the machines sit. We spend our days fixing things and making sure the tools are sharp. It gets loud sometimes when everything is running at once. The neighbors in the estate are all doing similar work, so there’s a sense of community here. We help each other out with spare parts or advice when someone’s stuck. It’s a simple life. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot and try to finish up by evening. There’s always some grease under our fingernails, but that’s part of the trade. We don't bother with fancy brochures or anything. People just know us by word of mouth and because we've been sitting near the Thana for so long. It’s a practical business for practical people. We drink a lot of strong tea to stay awake during the afternoon slump.
