Sri Satyanarayana Rice Mill

Our mill, Sri Satyanarayana Rice Mill, is over in NTR Nagar, Cherukupalli. You can find us at 3-6. It’s a local spot where we handle the harvest. We’ve got the big machines set up and they run pretty much all day during the peak months. It isn’t a quiet place to work, that’s for sure. The smell of raw rice is everywhere. We get farmers from all around the area bringing in their loads, and we try to get through them as fast as we can without making mistakes. Sometimes the queue gets long and people get a bit impatient, but we do our best to keep things moving fairly. The building itself is older, and we’ve had to patch the roof a few times, but it does the job. We aren't a big corporation with a lot of rules, we just know how to run the mill. Sometimes the belt on a machine breaks and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it with grease on our hands. That’s just part of it. We take pride in the fact that the local shops stock the rice that went through our machines. It’s a simple life here in Cherukupalli. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, and we stay until the last bag is stacked and ready. It's hard work, but someone has to do it, and we've been doing it here for years.
