Sri Mattapalli Lakshmi Narasimha Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of an apartment, specifically Flot No 401 in Satyavathi Homes. It’s a bit different having a farmer group in a place like S V N Colony in Pattabhipuram but it works for us. We needed a central spot to handle the business side of things. A few of us sit there and try to manage the accounts and talk to the buyers. Farming is what we do on the land but this office is where the math happens. It gets a bit cramped when too many of us show up at once for a meeting. We are mostly local guys who grew up with soil under our fingernails and now we’re trying to understand how to run a proper company. It’s a steep learning curve and we make plenty of mistakes along the way. We don't have a big sign or a fancy lobby. We just have some ledgers and a lot of determination to make sure our farmers get a fair shake. Being in Pattabhipuram puts us close to the city markets which helps with the logistics side. We spend a lot of time worrying about the next crop and whether we can get better seeds this time around. We are just a group of us trying to do something better for our families and the other growers who joined up with us for the long haul.
