Sri Lakshmi Srinivas Rice Traders is found at 14-5-9 in Islampet, right on the Eswar Mahal Road in Guntur. Guntur is known for being quite hot, so our warehouse can get very warm during the middle of the day. We have stacks of rice bags everywhere you look, sorted by the different types and weights. The Eswar Mahal Road is usually busy with transport vehicles and other traders, so it can be a bit of a scramble to get things loaded and unloaded. We have a big weighing scale that gets used all day long. The office is just a small partitioned area in the corner of the warehouse where we keep the books and take the orders. We deal with a lot of different people, from local shopkeepers to larger wholesalers. There is always a layer of fine dust from the rice on the desks and the floor, but that is part of the job. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements; we just rely on our reputation in the Islampet market. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of the incoming stock and making sure the orders go out on time. It is a basic trading business where we focus on the bags and the prices. We’ve been here in Guntur for years and the routine hasn't changed much.
