Nagaraju Flour Mills

You will find us on Sivalayam Street in Pedaravuru, at number 6-14-82. The mill has been part of this street for a long time. It is a loud place, honestly, because the grinding machines never seem to stop running from dawn until dusk. There is always a white coat of flour dust over everything, including the chairs and the old radio we keep in the corner. People from all over the village bring their grain here in big sacks. We have to be careful with the weights to make sure everyone gets back exactly what they brought. The floor is made of rough concrete and it is pretty worn down from all the heavy bags being dragged across it. My clothes are always covered in flour by the time I go home in the evening. Sivalayam Street is usually busy with people going to the temple, so there is a lot of noise outside too. We have a small bench out front where people sit and wait for their grain to be milled. It gets very hot inside because of the machines, but we have a big exhaust fan that helps a little. We don't do anything fancy here, just mill the grain as it comes in. It is a simple, honest job that keeps us busy every single day of the week. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend hours fixing them, but that's just part of the daily routine.
