You can find us over at 76-87-54, right across from the Vengata Reddy Building on K N Road. Our spot in Tallamudunurupadu has been a hub for steel for a long time. People around the neighborhood usually just call us Reddy's. It is a no-frills kind of place. We have stacks of steel rods and beams piled up, and we spend most of our daylight hours moving them around for customers. The rain is often our biggest challenge because we have to make sure the stock stays in good shape. It is a lot of heavy lifting and the sound of metal clanging is something we are just used to by now. We do not have any big signs or bright lights to get attention. Most of our work comes from people who have been buying from us for years. The traffic on K N Road can get a bit backed up when we have a big delivery coming in, but we try to be as quick as possible so we do not bother the neighbors too much. My father was in this business before me, and I just kept it running at the same location. We keep our records in a simple book and handle each person who walks in with the same basic attitude. It is physical work that keeps us active, and we like the feeling of helping people build things that will last a long time.
