We’ve been here at No. 23 in Gandhi Colony for a while now. Shivpuri is a quiet enough place most days, but our yard stays pretty busy with all the stone moving around. It’s heavy work, mostly just unloading trucks and making sure the pieces aren’t cracked or chipped too bad. My hands are usually covered in dust by ten in the morning. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a place where we keep the inventory and try to get things out the door when people need them. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to move the bigger slabs, especially when it rains and the ground gets soft. I usually sit in the small office near the front gate to handle the paperwork. People just drop by when they are looking for something specific for their house or a small project. We try to keep a decent variety, but it depends on what comes in that week. It’s not a complicated setup. Just us, the stones, and the crane we use for the heavy lifting. If you’re driving through the colony, you’ll see the stacks from the road. Most of our days are just spent checking orders and talking to the drivers who come through. It’s a lot of physical labor, but it keeps us busy and the neighborhood is familiar to us. We’ve known the people around here for years. It's just a regular local business doing what we know how to do.
