Shanteshwara Kannada Medium School

Shanteshwara Kannada Medium School is located in Kailash Nagar, which is a busy part of Gulbarga. We have been teaching kids in the Kannada medium for a long time because that is what the local families need. Gulbarga is known for its heat, so our days start very early to beat the sun. The school building is a modest one, tucked away among the houses and small shops of the neighborhood. We don't have any big signs or fancy decorations. It's just a place with classrooms, chalkboards, and rows of benches. Most of the kids live within walking distance, so we see them wandering in every morning in their uniforms. The teachers here are all from around this area, so we know most of the parents personally. We don't spend money on advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here in Kailash Nagar. Sometimes the dust from the street gets into the rooms, and we have to spend time cleaning it up. We don't have a lot of high-tech stuff; it’s mostly just books and talking. We have a small area where the kids play, but it’s nothing fancy. We just focus on the daily lessons and making sure everyone is following the curriculum. It’s honest, hard work and we’ve been doing it the same way for years. When the bell rings at the end of the day, it’s a bit of a mad dash to the gate. Then we lock up and do it all over again.
