We are located on Theing Road in Phillaur. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here but once you’re on the road it’s not too bad. We deal with food, mostly the stuff you see in grocery stores. The whole area around the factory often smells like biscuits or toasted grain. It’s a good smell to work in every day. The building itself is quite large because we need the space for the ovens and the packing lines. It isn't exactly modern-looking, just a solid brick and metal structure that’s been standing for a while. We have a lot of people from the local villages working here. They come in on cycles or the bus. It’s a busy environment. There’s always a truck backing into the loading bay or a forklift moving pallets around. We don’t really do fancy meetings. Most of our talking happens on the floor over the noise of the machinery. Sometimes we have to stay late if a big order comes in, but that’s just how the food business is. We try to keep things clean, obviously, but it’s an active factory, not a museum. We just focus on making sure the products are right. It’s hard work, but it’s honest. Phillaur is a quiet place otherwise, so we’re a big part of the local scene here. We have a small canteen where the guys eat their parathas during the break, and it’s usually the liveliest part of the day.
