Welfare Classes

Welfare Classes is tucked away in Koyala Gali, near Maya Bazar in the Dakshin Phatak part of Gorakhpur. It’s a bit of a busy spot with people moving around all the time. If you know the area, you know how crowded the lanes can get, especially during the market hours. Our place is inside one of those older buildings. It has high ceilings but the walls could probably use a new coat of paint. We’ve got a couple of rooms set up with rows of chairs. It’s nothing like those big corporate centers you see in the magazines. We just focus on the books. During the monsoon, the street outside gets a bit muddy, so everyone has to leave their shoes by the door. It makes the entrance a bit messy, but that’s just life in Maya Bazar. We spend our days going through textbooks and writing on the board. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows to let the light in. The students don't seem to mind much; they are used to it. We keep a big jug of water in the corner and some spare pens for anyone who forgets theirs. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We don’t do much advertising because people usually hear about us from their neighbors or cousins. We’ve been here in Dakshin Phatak for quite a bit. It’s just how we run things in this part of Gorakhpur every single day.
