Swami Narayan Tour And Travels is located right by the New Project Road Railway Crossing. It’s a small office where we spend most of our time booking tickets and planning routes for people. You can hear the trains passing by quite often, which kind of reminds us of what we do. We have a couple of desks, some old maps on the wall, and a lot of logbooks. It’s not a high-end travel lounge. It’s just a place where you come to get your travel sorted. We spend a lot of time on the phone with drivers or checking train schedules. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to apologize to people while they wait. We’ve seen a lot of people come and go over the years. Some want to go on a long pilgrimage and others just need a car for a day trip. We try to give them the best route we know. It’s not always easy keeping track of all the different bookings, but we write everything down carefully. The office can get a bit dusty because of the road outside, so we’re always wiping down the desks. We don't have any big signs or fancy advertisements. People usually just stop by because they live nearby or they're heading towards the crossing. We’re here most days, just taking care of the local travel needs. It’s simple work but it keeps us on our toes and we like seeing people off.
