Khadda Agro Farms

Being out here in Ward No. 8 of Raja Bazar, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Khadda Agro Farms is pretty much what you would expect from a local setup in Khadda Kushinagar. We spend a lot of time looking at the weather and worrying about the rain. The office is just a simple room where we keep the records and escape the sun for a bit. There is always some mud on the floor because someone just came in from the fields. Raja Bazar has its busy days, especially when it’s time to move the harvest. We see a lot of local farmers who drop by to talk about crops or just to sit for a minute. It’s not a polished operation. We have old wooden chairs and a fan that rattles when you turn it on high. Most of the day is spent on the phone or out checking on the land. Kushinagar is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business anyway, so we don't need to put up big signs. We just do the farming work and try to keep the equipment running for another season. It’s hard work and your hands are never really clean, but it’s what we know. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s just life at the farm.
