Ganesh Misthan

We are located right at Ganesh Chowk in the Golghar area of Gorakhpur. You can find us on Park Road, which is usually quite busy with traffic and people walking by. Ganesh Misthan has been part of this street for a long time. We mostly sell sweets and snacks to the locals who pass by on their way to work or home. The shop isn't very big, and it can get a bit cramped when several people come in at once. We make everything in the back throughout the day. You can often smell the frying and the sugar from down the block. We don’t have a fancy display, just the glass counters where we put out what we’ve made fresh that morning. My father started this shop, and now I run it with my younger brother. We have a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting and the cooking. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside and the stoves are going, but we are used to it by now. We know most of our customers by sight, and they know which days we make their favorite items. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff by late afternoon, so people have learned to come early. It’s a simple life here on Park Road, just making sure the sweets are good and the customers are happy with what they buy.
