Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones is over in Gondia, specifically in the Gautam Nagar area near the Doubling Ground. We are in the Railway Ward, so the sound of trains is something we have all gotten used to over the years. It is a local school that serves the families living right here in Civil Line. The building is a simple one, nothing that stands out too much from the houses around it. We like it that way because it feels like part of the community. Every morning, the kids walk in from the nearby streets, and the place comes alive. We do not have a big office or a bunch of administrators. It is usually just a few of us handling everything from the teaching to the cleaning. The playground is a bit small, but the children do not seem to mind at all. We spend our time making sure the books are in order and the roof does not leak when the monsoon hits. It is a very hands-on kind of place. You will not find any corporate mission statements on the walls. Instead, you will see drawings and charts made by the staff and students. Gondia is a quiet town, and we just go about our business without much fuss. If a chair breaks, we fix it. If a child is upset, we talk to them. It is just a normal school doing its thing every day.
