Fort Bricks

Fort Bricks is located out at Palkhed, in the Gorgon tehsil. It’s a bit of a journey to get out here if you are coming from the main city, but we like the open space and the quiet of the countryside. We’ve got the fields all around us and plenty of room for our operations. The name Fort Bricks sounds a bit grand, but really it’s just a few of us working in the dirt and sun most days. Palkhed is a small place, so everybody knows where we are and what we do. We spend a lot of time watching the weather because a heavy rain can really ruin a day’s worth of work if we aren't careful. The ground here in Gorgon tehsil gives us what we need, and we just follow the same process we’ve always used. There is nothing fancy about our setup, just some old equipment and a lot of manual labor. We eat our lunch under the shade of a big tree near the edge of the property and talk about what needs to be done for the next batch. It’s a steady kind of life, and even though it is tiring, there is something good about seeing a finished stack of bricks ready to go. We don't have any big goals other than keeping the place running and being part of the Palkhed community as long as people need building materials.
