St Michaels Convent School

Our school is right there in the I T I Ltd Sanchar Vihar area in Manakpur. It’s a bit of a specific location since many of the families around here work at the ITI factory nearby. The atmosphere is generally quite calm because we are tucked away from the main road traffic. We have a main building with several wings for the different grades. Most of the rooms have large windows to let in the light, which is good during the long afternoons. The playground has some dust, but that doesn't stop the kids from running around during their break. We don't spend much money on big advertisements; people just know where we are. The staff room is a bit small, often piled high with folders and lunch boxes. We use simple benches and tables in the classrooms. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the doors for a bit of breeze. The gatekeeper knows almost every student who walks through. It’s a very local feel here. We follow the usual curriculum and try to make sure the students understand their math and science. Parents often drop by after their shifts at the factory to check on how their children are doing. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s not a complicated place, just a school for the kids in the colony and nearby. We keep it practical.
