About Bajrang Rice Flour & Oil Mill – Food & Beverages in Golaghat
Down near Jala Bill Road in Golaghat, you’ll find us working away at Bajrang Rice Flour & Oil Mill. The smell of mustard oil is usually the first thing people notice when they get close to the gate. It’s a strong scent that sticks to your clothes, but we don't even notice it much anymore after being here so long. We handle both rice and oil seeds, so the machines are almost always humming. One side of the shed is dedicated to the flour mill where the white dust covers everything, and the other side is where we press the oil. It’s a practical setup that we’ve put together over the years to handle whatever the local folks bring in. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, making it a challenge for the carts to pull up right to the door. We spend a lot of time cleaning the filters and making sure the stones are set right for the flour. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting heavy sacks and moving barrels around the floor. We aren't big on decorations or anything like that, the walls are just plain and the floor is concrete. Most of our day is spent listening to the rhythm of the belts and checking what comes out of the machines. It’s steady work that keeps us connected to the farmers around Golaghat. We just do what needs doing every day.
