Costa Cement Products

Costa Cement Products is easy to spot because we are right near the Someshwar Temple in Quepem. It is a nice part of Margao, even if it gets a bit noisy during the temple festivals. We work with cement mostly, making blocks and other things for building. The yard is always wet because we have to keep the concrete damp while it cures. There is a specific smell to wet cement that I have grown to like over the years. We have a couple of old mixers that make a lot of noise when they are running. My hands are usually grey from the mix. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. We just have our name on a small board near the road. The temple bells are a good way to keep track of the time during the day. When it rains heavily in Goa, the work slows down a lot. We have to cover everything with blue tarps. It can get pretty muddy around the edges of the property. We have a few dogs that hang around the yard and we feed them our leftovers. It is a quiet enough life, just making things out of sand and stone. People from the village come by when they need to fix a wall or build a small shed. It is just us here every day doing the same things.
