We've been here on Tundi Road for quite a while now. Jalan Mica Exports isn't a fancy place with big glass windows or anything like that. It’s mostly just us working with the mica that comes through here. Some days are busier than others. When the sun is high over Tundi Road, the dust gets everywhere, but that’s part of the job. We spend a lot of time sorting through things and making sure everything is where it should be. It's a lot of physical work, really. My uncle used to say that mica gets under your skin, and he wasn't wrong. We have a small crew. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't bad unless the road is blocked by a truck. We have a routine. Start early, get the coffee going, and check the shipments. There's always something to move or a pile to check. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit during lunch if it’s not too hot. People walk by and wave. It’s a quiet enough spot most of the time. We don't spend much time on computers or making phone calls unless we really have to. Most of what we do is right here in front of us. It’s not a complicated setup, but it works for us. We keep the gate open during the day and close it up tight when we head home. It’s just honest work day in and day out. Sometimes the rain makes the road muddy, but we just keep going anyway.
