Shams National School

Over in the Bag Begam Shah area of Ghazipur, you’ll find Shams National School. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building shows its age a bit, but it’s solid. Ghazipur is a place with a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that. Our school is a place where local kids come to get their education without a lot of fuss. We don’t have a big budget for fancy decorations or expensive advertisements. Most people hear about us through word of mouth from their neighbors or relatives. The classrooms are simple, and we try to keep them as tidy as we can. The neighborhood is usually quite lively, with people going about their business around Bag Begam Shah. We open early in the morning, and the staff is busy getting everything ready before the first students arrive. It’s a lot of routine work—checking attendance, going over lessons, and making sure the playground is safe. We don't claim to be anything other than what we are: a school for the community. The winters here can get a bit cold, and the summers are definitely hot, but we just keep going. You might see us if you’re walking through the area; we’re the building with the students in uniform gathered outside. It’s a humble place, but it serves its purpose for the families living in this part of Ghazipur every day.
