Sheeba Boutique & Colection

You can find our boutique at E-149 in Lajpat Nagar, Sahibabad. The shop is usually filled with rolls of fabric and half-finished dresses draped over the chairs. It is a small space, so it gets crowded very quickly when we have more than a couple of people inside. We do not have a big team of designers or anything like that. It is just us working with our hands and the sewing machines. The hum of the needles is the main sound you hear all day long. We spend most of our time talking to women about what kind of embroidery they want or how a particular suit should fit. It is a lot of measuring and cutting and then re-measuring to make sure it is right. Sometimes we run out of a specific thread color and have to go hunting for it in the local market. The lighting in the shop is not the best for the fine needlework, but we make do with what we have. It is an old-fashioned way of doing things, but people in Lajpat Nagar seem to like that we take our time. We do not follow any corporate rules. We just open the doors in the morning and see what needs to be mended or stitched. It is tiring on the eyes after a few hours, but it is rewarding to see a customer happy with a new outfit. We have been in this spot for years now.
