Shankar Trading Co

Our place, Shankar Trading Co, is located at 383-C in the Ram Ngr area of Ghaziabad. We are right in the middle of Kiraya Mandi, which is always a hive of activity. It’s an old part of town and the streets can be a bit tight when trucks are trying to unload. We deal with a lot of different things here. It’s more of a wholesale feel than a regular shop, so you’ll see plenty of sacks and crates stacked up high. I’ve been working in this market for most of my adult life. It’s noisy and dusty, but it’s where all the trade happens. My brother and I manage the daily orders. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit behind, but we always make sure the goods get to where they need to go. We don't have a storefront with big windows. It’s more of a functional space. People come here to get work done, not to browse. The tea stall next door is where we spend our breaks. It’s a community of traders here in Ram Ngr. Everyone knows everyone else's business. We keep things straightforward. If we have it, we sell it. If we don't, we tell you when it’s coming. We don't use any fancy systems, just a ledger and a good memory. It’s been the same way for years and it works for the kind of business we do in the Mandi.
