Plastic Scrap Godawn

We run this plastic scrap godown at B-70 in the Sahibabad industrial area. It’s not a pretty place, just a large space where we collect and sort through various kinds of plastic waste. Every day, trucks come in loaded with all sorts of discarded materials from factories and other places. We have a small crew that spends the whole day separating the different types of plastic. Some of it is hard, some is soft, and it all has to be piled up correctly before it goes off for processing. The air is always a bit dusty and it gets loud with the machines and the moving of heavy sacks. We started this because there was so much waste around and someone had to manage the collection. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and weighing. We don't have an office staff; it’s mostly just us on the floor making sure the piles don't get too high or messy. Sahibabad is full of units like ours, but we try to keep our corner at B-70 organized. We deal with a lot of regular collectors who bring in small loads on their cycles too. It’s a gritty job, but it’s how we make a living. There’s no fancy website or anything, just the gate and the weighing scale inside. We keep the registers updated by hand and make sure the fire safety buckets are always full. It's basic work but someone has to do it.
