Mukesh Kumar Malik

You can find me at Shop No 5 on M G Road. It’s a small shop, but it’s right in the middle of everything. Being on M G Road means it’s never quiet; there’s always people walking past and horns honking at all hours. I’m Mukesh Kumar Malik, and I’ve been running this shop for a good while. It’s not a big showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. It’s just a honest little shop where I keep my stock and sit behind the counter. The shelves are a bit crowded because I try to fit as much as I can into the space I have. Sometimes it’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two people come in at once. I’ve got a small wooden stool I sit on, and I know most of the regulars by their first names. We talk about the weather or the local news while we handle whatever they came in for. I don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. If people need me, they know exactly where the shop is. The front door squeaks a bit when you open it, but I’ve gotten used to the sound over the years. I try to keep things simple. No big speeches or fancy promises to anyone. I just open up in the morning, do my work, and close up when it's time to go home. It’s a decent way to earn a living and stay connected to the local town.
