Amar Urja

Amar Urja is over at 305-G Industrial Area in Mukand Nagar. This part of the Industrial Area is always buzzing with something. Our building is a bit older, with those heavy metal doors that are really hard to slide open in the morning. We work on energy stuff, mostly dealing with batteries and panels that take up a lot of floor space. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains, you can’t hear yourself think inside the workshop. We have a small wooden table in the corner where we eat lunch together. Usually, it’s just someone’s home-cooked dal and some roti they brought from home. The shelves are full of components and dusty manuals that no one has touched in five years. Mukand Nagar is a dusty place, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the equipment. The power goes out occasionally, and then we all just sit around talking until it comes back on. We don’t have a fancy showroom for people to look at. If you come to see us, you’ll just see people in work clothes moving heavy boxes or testing circuits. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble. We’ve been at 305-G for a long time now, and we know all the other shop owners on this block. It feels like a little community in the middle of all the grease and iron.
