I work out of a small space at No. 642 on the first floor in Sector-3 F, Vaishali. Being an LIC India agent means I spend a lot of my time talking to people about things they don’t always want to think about, like insurance and what happens later in life. My office is pretty simple, just a desk, two chairs for visitors, and a lot of filing cabinets for all the policy documents. It’s on the first floor, so I get to see people walking by on the street below while I’m on the phone. Vaishali is a busy area, and there’s always something happening outside. I don’t have a big team; it’s mostly just me handling the paperwork and making sure people pay their premiums on time so their policies don't lapse. Sometimes I have to go out and meet people at their homes because it’s easier for them, especially the older folks. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, but most people don't mind. I’ve been doing this for long enough that I know most of the people who come in by their first names. It’s a quiet sort of business, focused on forms and signatures and making sure everything is filed correctly with the main office. There’s always a lot of reading to do when the rules change, but that’s part of the job here.
