Kapil Singh Rana

If you look for Shop No A 15 in New Moti Nagar, that is where you will find me. My name is Kapil Singh Rana. I spend most of my time inside this shop. It’s not very large, but I have managed to fit everything I need inside. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when more than two people are in here at once. The floor is made of old tile and it has some cracks from years of moving heavy stuff around. I don't mind it much. The location is good because people are always walking by on their way to the market. I see a lot of the same faces every day. We usually nod or say hello. I start my day by pulling up the shutters, which are always a bit stiff in the winter. Once everything is open, I sweep the front and wait for the first person to come in. I don’t really do any big advertising or anything. Most people find me because they live nearby or heard about me from a friend. I keep a small radio on the shelf to listen to the news while I work. It’s a simple way to spend the day. I try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door, even if they are just asking for directions to the main road. That’s just how it goes here in New Moti Nagar. It is not fancy, but it is mine.
