Jikraa

Our little spot, Jikraa, is located at 238 in the Saviour Street Mall over in Crossing Republic. Being in a mall is a bit different from being on a street corner. Everything is a bit cleaner, and there’s air conditioning, which is nice when it’s hot outside. But inside the shop, it still feels like our own small space. We have things arranged on glass shelves and some hangers along the walls. People usually wander in while they are out doing their weekend shopping or grabbing a bite to eat nearby. The lighting is bright, and we spend a lot of time wiping fingerprints off the glass cases every morning. It’s not a huge store, so we have to be careful about where we put everything so people can actually walk around without bumping into things. Sometimes it gets a bit quiet on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings, so we sit and catch up on some reading or just watch the people walking past the window. When the mall gets crowded on Saturday nights, the shop feels much smaller than it actually is. We’ve been in this building for a while now and know most of the other shop owners around us. It’s a decent place to spend the day. We don't have any big slogans or anything like that. We just open the doors and wait to see who comes in to look at what we’ve got.
