Ishas Beauty Parlour

You can't miss us if you’re in the Gandhi Nagar Main Market in Ghaziabad. We are the corner shop, right near the Bank of Baroda. It's a prime spot because everyone passes by it. I've been running Ishas Beauty Parlour for several years now. It started small and it’s still pretty small, to be honest. We have a few chairs for hair and a separate area for waxing and facials behind a curtain. The market is always loud, with people shouting and bikes going by, but we try to keep the shop feeling calm. We do a lot of threading. It seems like someone is always coming in for their eyebrows. We also do hair coloring and occasionally some bridal work when it's the season for it. I don't like using too many fancy words to describe what we do. We just fix hair and help people feel a bit better about how they look. I have one assistant who helps me on the busy days. We aren't perfect. Sometimes the floor has some hair on it for a few minutes before we can sweep it, or we run out of a certain brand of shampoo. But we do our best for everyone who walks through the door. Most of our customers are women who live within walking distance. They come in once a month or so. It’s a steady life. We like being on the corner where we can see everything happening in the market. It's a good place to work.
