I started this parlour in my local area because I saw that women here needed a place nearby for their basic beauty needs. It is located inside the residential building, so it has a very quiet and private feel to it. It is not like the big shops you see in the malls. It is a small room that I have fixed up with some simple furniture and a couple of mirrors. I handle most of the work myself, like threading, waxing, and basic hair trims. Most of my clients are the ladies who live in the same apartment block or the ones right next to us. We often end up chatting about our families or what we are cooking for dinner while I work. It feels more like visiting a friend than going to a business. I don't use any high-tech equipment, just the stuff I have learned to use over the years. The space is clean and I try to make it as comfortable as possible with a few cushions and some nice curtains. Ghaziabad is a busy place, but here in Ankur Vihar, it stays a bit more peaceful. I enjoy the work because it allows me to stay close to home and help the women in my community look their best for special occasions or just for their daily lives.
