Aggarwal Kitchen Store

Running a shop in Ghaziabad Main Bazar near Delhi Gate is not for everyone. It is loud and crowded out there every single day. Aggarwal Kitchen Store has been at number 32 for quite a bit of time now. We sell all the usual things like pressure cookers, stainless steel plates, and those big pans people use for making dal. It’s a tight space because we have boxes stacked up to the ceiling. If you want something from the top shelf, I have to get the old wooden ladder out. Customers come in looking for specific parts for their old stoves and we usually have them tucked away in a drawer somewhere. The shop gets very hot in the summer because the fans don't do much against the heat from the street. We don't have a computer system, so everything is written down in a ledger book. It takes a bit longer to do the billing, but it works for us. My father started this and now I spend my days here talking to people about which brand of tawa lasts the longest. Sometimes people bargain for twenty minutes over a small spoon. It can be tiring, but that is how the bazar works. We open around ten and stay until the market starts to quiet down. It’s a simple business selling things people actually use every day in their homes.
