A One Like Man Saloon in Indirapuram, Makan Pur at Mata Chowk. This spot is right where everyone passes by during their daily commute. The shop stays open from early morning until quite late at night. We have the rotating barber pole outside but it does not spin anymore. Inside there are the leather chairs which are a bit worn out at the armrests but still comfortable enough. We do mostly hair cuts and shaves for the men around Makan Pur. It gets very crowded on Saturday evenings when everyone wants to look good for the weekend. The air conditioner works okay but sometimes it struggles when the shop is full of people. We have a small television in the corner usually showing the news or a cricket match. I spend a lot of time standing on my feet so I sit down whenever there is a gap between customers. The floor gets covered in hair quickly and we use a big broom to clear it away. There is a specific smell here of aftershave and hair cream that never really goes away. It is just a part of the place now. We know the neighbors and they know us. Sometimes people just stop in to say hello even if they don't need a haircut. It is just that kind of neighborhood shop near the chowk.
