Sanjay Rice Mill

The Sanjay Rice Mill has been operating out here on Tekari Road for some time now. We are located in Village Bohia, right in the Tekari Block, not far from the Devi Mandir. If you live around here, you probably hear the machines humming throughout the day. We take the raw paddy from the local farmers and process it so it’s ready for the kitchen. It is dusty work and the noise is something you just get used to after a while. My family stays busy with the loading and unloading of heavy sacks. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it rains and we have to keep everything dry under the sheds. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Usually, you will find me near the milling machines or out back checking the quality of the grain coming in. The road can get a bit muddy in the monsoon, but the tractors still make it through to us. People from across the district bring their harvest here because they know we have been doing this a long time. It’s a simple operation really. We focus on the rice and making sure the machines don’t break down at the wrong time. It is hard work, starting early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. We are just a local mill doing our part in the village. It isn't much to look at, but it works and keeps us busy all year.
