Art & Queer

You can find us on New Road in Moulaganj. We are right across from the railway reservation counter, so there is always a crowd of people outside waiting for their tickets. It makes the street very lively. Art & Queer is a small shop, and we’ve tried to cram a lot into a tiny space. The name usually gets a second look from people passing by, which we don’t mind. We mostly sell things that we think look interesting or that people might want to give as a gift. It’s not very organized, to be honest. One shelf might have pens and the next might have small statues or bags. We like the variety. The floor is a bit uneven and the door squeaks every time someone comes in, but it has character. Being so close to the station means we see a lot of people just passing through town. They pop in to kill time while they wait for their turn at the reservation window. We hear a lot of stories about where people are traveling to. It keeps things from getting boring. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front window, so we have to move the stock around. It’s just me and a friend running the place most days. We don’t have big plans, we just like having a shop on a busy street where something is always happening.
