Maxx Handicraft

Maxx Handicraft is located at Shop No-19, near the 4No Water Tank in Bodhgaya. We are quite close to the Bodhgaya Post Office, which is a busy spot for everyone in town. Since we are in the Bodhgaya Tehsil and very near the Mahabodhi Temple, there are always a lot of people walking around the streets, especially the pilgrims and visitors who come from all over. Our shop is quite small and we have things stacked up from the floor all the way to the ceiling. Most of what we have are handmade items that we get from local makers in the surrounding villages. We’ve been in this specific location for a few years now. It gets very hot in the summer months, and we only have a small ceiling fan to keep the air moving inside the shop. It’s not a fancy place with big glass windows and cold air conditioning. We just leave the front door open so people can see what we have while they walk past. Sometimes it’s hard to talk to customers because of the noise from the street traffic and the bells from the temple nearby. We don't have a website or do any big advertising in the newspapers. People just walk in while they are exploring the town. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the items we have for sale. My younger brother helps me out when he’s not busy with his school work. We open early in the morning and don't close the shop until it gets dark.
