Kbg Exports is based out of unit number 98 in Udyog Kendra. Being out here in Greater Noida means we have a decent amount of space to work with, which is a good thing because things tend to pile up quickly when we're busy. Gautam Budh Nagar is a real hub for this kind of work, so there's always something moving nearby. Our day usually starts pretty early, right when the main gate opens for the workers. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking the old computer for updates on where our goods are currently located. It’s mostly concrete and metal around this industrial area, so it gets quite hot in the summer months and we have to use big fans to stay cool. We have a small crew and we all know the daily routine by heart now. There are always cardboard boxes stacked up near the entrance waiting to be moved onto the next truck. It’s not the kind of place people visit just to look around; it’s a working warehouse through and through. We keep the paperwork in some old filing cabinets that have seen better days and don't always slide open easily. It gets quite dusty with all the trucks moving in and out of the estate, so we’re constantly wiping down the tables and equipment. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is due to arrive, just to make sure every single item is accounted for. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big reception area with a sofa.
