Our office is down in the basement of plot B-28 in Sector 57. Being in a basement means we do not get much natural light, so we rely on those long fluorescent tubes that sometimes flicker when the power fluctuates. It is actually nice in the summer though, because it stays a lot cooler than the upper floors when the Noida sun is beating down on the pavement outside. The space is a bit cramped, especially with all the desks and chairs we have squeezed in lately. We have a small corner where we keep the water cooler and a stack of plastic cups that always seem to be running out. Getting here can be a bit of a pain because the roads in this sector get really crowded with delivery trucks and people parking wherever they find a spot. Most of us bring lunch from home and eat at our desks while watching videos or just chatting about whatever happened over the weekend. There is a persistent hum from the server rack in the back that you stop noticing after the first hour. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and there is a spot near the door where the plaster is peeling a bit. We are not trying to impress anyone with the decor; we just need a place to sit and handle our tech work. It is a pretty basic setup, but it works for us and we have gotten used to the quirks of the building over the months.
