Grainlink Foods Private Limited

Up on the 9th floor of Supertech Capetown in Sector 74, things look a bit different for a food company. Grainlink Foods Private Limited operates out of No. 904, CB-1, and it’s a busy little hub. We deal with grains and food supplies, which means there’s a lot of coordinating with warehouses and transport guys over the phone. Being in a big apartment complex like this, you have to be careful about how much noise you make. We spend most of our morning responding to emails and checking the latest prices for wheat and pulses. The view from the balcony is nice, but we are usually too busy looking at spreadsheets or talking to distributors. It’s not like a traditional shop where people walk in off the street. We handle the links between the farmers and the bigger markets. Sometimes the elevators are slow when we have a lot of samples to carry down to the parking lot. We started this because we knew a lot about the grain business from our family background. It is just a small team of us working in the office space, keeping track of shipments across the state. The tea kettle is always on because the days can get pretty long when a big order is stuck somewhere. We don't have any fancy mission statements; we just try to make sure the grains get where they need to go on time. It is practical work that requires constant attention.
