Ipi Steel Ltd, Orissa

We have been running things for Ipi Steel Ltd, Orissa out of Room No 19 at the Nimt Boys Hostel for a while now. It is located near Pari Chowk on Kasna Road in the Greater Noida area of U.P. Most people find it a bit strange that a steel company has an office in a boys' hostel, but it works for us. We aren't a big operation here in Gautam Budha Nagar, just a few of us handling the paperwork and coordination with the main branch in Orissa. The room is simple with just some desks and chairs where we can find space. Since it is a hostel, there are always students around and it can get quite loud in the hallways. We don't really mind because the location is very convenient for getting to the main road and the metro. We spend most of our day on the phone or sorting through documents that come in. There is no fancy sign outside or a big reception desk to greet people. We just sit here and do our work every day. Sometimes the mailman gets confused and leaves our letters at the main hostel gate, but we usually go down and fetch them ourselves. It is a very practical way to keep things going without spending too much on a big glass office. We just focus on getting the work done and keeping everything in order as best as we can from this small room.
