Shree Girijamata Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically just us farmers here in Padalsa. We operate out of G. No. 48, which is actually Dagadu Revaji Sonwane’s place. Gangapur is our taluka and it is where most of our fields are located. It’s a quiet area and we spend most of our days out in the sun. We decided to register this company because doing things alone was getting harder every year. When the rains are late or the prices at the market drop, we needed a way to talk to each other and maybe get better deals on seeds or transport. It’s not a big fancy office with computers and desks everywhere. It’s more like a spot where we meet to drink tea and figure out the coming season. Dagadu lets us use his space for the paperwork. There are no experts here, just people who know the soil in this part of Gangapur. We grow what the land allows and try to make sure everyone gets a fair shake. Life here is mostly about the rhythm of the crops. Sometimes the roads are dusty and the work is heavy, but having this group makes it feel a bit more manageable. We don’t have much time for slogans. We just want to get the produce from the fields to the buyer without losing too much in between. That is pretty much the whole story of our group here in the village.
