Our unit is at Plot No. 59 in Sector 1-A. It’s situated right behind the Municipal Market, so there is always a lot of activity nearby. Nakoda Foods Pvt. Ltd. isn't a very large place, but we keep the machines running most of the time. The smell of whatever we are processing that day usually hangs in the air. You can hear the market vendors shouting from just a few blocks away if the wind is right. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just the plot number and our door. Inside, it’s mostly stainless steel and people in hairnets trying to stay cool. The heat from the production can get a bit much during the peak of summer. We just focus on the work. There isn't much time for standing around and chatting. We have to keep an eye on the clock to make sure the batches are done on time. Being behind the market means we get a lot of trucks passing by, which can make the alley a bit crowded. Sometimes we have to move our own vehicles just to let someone else through. It’s a bit of a squeeze, but we make it work. It’s a decent place to work, even if it gets a bit loud and messy sometimes. We just do our jobs and head home. The routine is the same every day, but it keeps us all moving forward.
