MLA - Dasada , Surendranagar (Shri Punambhai Kalabhai Makwana)

This is the office for the MLA representing Dasada, located over in Jakhora within the Gandhinagar district. It’s a quiet village area but the office gets quite a lot of activity throughout the week. People from the Surendranagar area often travel over to talk about their local problems or to get some papers signed. We have a simple setup with some benches for visitors to sit on while they wait. Shri Punambhai Kalabhai Makwana is often out meeting people, but there is usually someone here to take down notes or answer the phone. It’s not a fancy government building with marble floors. It’s just a regular place in the village where people feel comfortable walking in. We deal with everything from water issues to school requests. Sometimes the porch gets crowded and we have to bring out extra stools from the back. We try to keep a register of everyone who visits so we don't forget what they need help with. The walk from the main road isn't too long, and most people around here know the way to the office. It’s about being available when the locals have something on their minds. There’s always a pot of water and some files stacked up on the wooden tables. It’s just a local hub for helping the community out. We don't have strict hours, we just stay until the last visitor leaves.
