Our office is tucked away in No-2 Murlidhar Society, right on Mahendra Mill Road. If you know Kalol, you know we are right near the G.E.B., which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. It’s an industrial sort of area, so there is always a bit of a hum in the background from the machinery and the power station nearby. Gujrat Ambuja Cement Ltd has been operating out of this spot for a good while. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a typical structure for this part of Gujarat. Inside, it’s mostly just filing cabinets and a few computers that have seen better days. We deal with a lot of the local logistics here. The road outside gets quite busy with trucks and motorcycles, especially when the shifts change at the mills. We have a small staff, and we all pretty much do a bit of everything. One minute you’re answering the phone, and the next you’re out back checking a shipment. It’s a practical place. We don’t have air conditioning in every room, so the ceiling fans work hard all year round. The tea here is strong and we drink a lot of it. People from the society often walk past and wave. We feel like a part of the local scenery on Mahendra Mill Road. It’s just a regular workplace for regular people doing a day’s work.
