If you head down to GIDC, you’ll find us at Plot No. 82 in Sector 10A. It’s a typical industrial area, so there’s not much in the way of scenery, just a lot of other factories and workshops. We do casting work here, which means there is a lot of metal and heat involved. The building is just a big shed mostly, which is what you need for this kind of work. We don't have air conditioning in the main area because it wouldn't do much good with the machines running. We spend our days looking at molds and making sure the metal pours right. It’s a dirty job and our clothes are usually stained by the end of the shift. We aren’t trying to win any awards for how the place looks. We just want to make sure the parts we cast are solid and meet what the customer asked for. The office is just a small room in the front where we keep the books and take calls. Sometimes the noise from the neighbors is so loud we have to shout over the phone. We’ve been in this spot for a while and we know all the other shop owners nearby. We help each other out with tools or advice when something breaks down. It’s a hard way to earn a living, but it’s what we do.
