You can find Akshay Exim India on the Ahmadabad Road out in the Dehgam district. It’s a bit of a trek from the city center, and the road is always busy with heavy trucks and transit. Our office is right there on the side of the road, in a simple building that fits our needs. It can get pretty dusty with all the traffic, so we are always cleaning the windows and desks. The office is a functional space where we manage the export and import of various items. It’s a lot of loud noises from the highway and the constant ringing of phones. We have a small crew and we’ve all been working together for a long time. There isn’t a lot of formality here; we just focus on getting the work done and the shipments cleared. We spend a lot of time dealing with the paperwork that comes with international trade. It’s not always exciting, but it’s what we do. The office doesn’t have fancy air conditioning, just some sturdy ceiling fans that keep the air moving. We usually eat lunch together at the desk while we wait for calls. It’s a gritty, practical place to work, and we don’t try to make it look like anything else. We just take it day by day and keep the export business running smoothly. The traffic never stops outside our window.
