Ambica Gold Palace

Our shop is right here in Ward 12-B, on Plot No. 258 in the Zaveri Bazar area. If you know Gandhidham, you know it gets busy around here. We’ve been behind this counter for a long time. People come in looking for something small or maybe a gift for a wedding, and we just show them what we have in the cases. It’s not a huge palace despite the name, but we try to keep it clean and the lights bright so you can see the work on the gold. Sometimes the street outside is so loud with traffic that we can barely hear the customers, but that’s just Gandhidham for you. We keep a chair in the corner for anyone who needs to sit a bit. We aren't big on fancy talk or trying to push things on people. We just show the pieces, talk about the weight, and figure out the price. Most days it's just us and the regulars who stop by to say hello or check on a repair. My hands are usually a bit marked up from working with the tools, but that is part of the job. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for whoever comes through. It's a simple way to run a business in the bazaar. It gets hot in the afternoon but we have a small fan.
