Mahavir Wooden Industries

We are located at Plot 502 in the G.I.D.C. area of Dehgam. The whole district can get quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up around the industrial estate in the afternoons. Here at Mahavir Wooden Industries, the smell of fresh cut wood is something you just get used to after your first day. We deal with timber and making different wooden items for various uses. It is definitely not the cleanest job in the world. You’ll almost always find sawdust on our clothes and probably in our hair too. My father started this business years ago and we have just kept it going since then. We have a few old saws that are a bit noisy but they still work better than the new ones we tried out last year. The workers here are like family to us, really. We know whose kid is starting school and who is getting married next month. Dehgam is a bit out of the way for some people, but for us, it is just home. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us out back near the tall stacks of wood. We don't spend much time sitting in the office unless we absolutely have to do the billing or check the mail. It’s just honest work and it keeps us busy every day while the sun goes down over the estate.
