Agarwal Trading Company

Agarwal Trading Company is sitting right in the middle of the Main Bazaar in Firozpur City. If you know the bazaar, you know how busy it gets, especially on weekend mornings. Our shop is filled with bags and boxes of whatever we are trading that week. There is always someone unloading a rickshaw or a small truck out front, which usually blocks the path for a bit. We don't mind the chaos because that is just part of being in Firozpur. The walls inside are a bit yellowed from age and we have a ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it is on high speed. My family has been doing this for a long time, so we know most of the other shopkeepers on the street. We spend our mornings checking the prices and our afternoons talking to customers who come in to see what we have. There is a small back room where we keep the extra stuff and a tiny stove for making tea. We drink a lot of tea here, especially when it is cold outside. We don't have a website or any of those modern things; we just talk to people face to face. Sometimes we run out of something and have to call around to find more. It is a simple way to earn a living and it keeps us connected to the city. The bazaar is our whole world during the day and we like it that way despite the noise.
