S D Junior High School is located in Jafrabad, which is a part of the Fatehpur area in Uttar Pradesh. We have been in this spot for a while now. The school is basically a collection of classrooms where the local kids from the neighborhood come to study. It’s not a very big place, but it serves the families around here well enough. Every morning, you can hear the kids arriving and the general buzz of the school day starting up. We have the usual subjects, and the teachers just get on with their lessons. It can get pretty hot in this part of Uttar Pradesh, so we try to keep the rooms as cool as we can with the fans we have. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to deal with it. It’s a very normal, local school. There isn't anything flashy about it. We have a small yard where the children play, and the main gate stays busy during drop-off and pick-up times. Most of us who work here are from Fatehpur ourselves, so we are just neighbors helping neighbors. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or advertisements. We just focus on making sure the students have their books and that they show up for their classes on time. It is a simple life running a school in Jafrabad, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every week without fail.
