Lala Jagjeewan Lal Jain Balika Inter College is located in Koraur, which is a bit of a distance from the main hub of Allahabad. It’s a school for girls, and we’ve been part of this community for a long time. The building is old but sturdy, and it’s seen a lot of students pass through its doors over the years. We focus on intermediate education here for the local girls. The atmosphere is generally quite disciplined, as you’d expect from a place like this. In the mornings, you can hear the prayer and the girls chatting before the first period starts. It’s a safe space for the local girls to get their education without having to travel too far. We have a small staff of teachers who really know the families in the 212401 area. Sometimes the roads around Koraur get a bit messy when it rains, making it hard for everyone to get here on time, but the school stays open. We don't have many modern luxuries or fancy computers. The benches are wooden and the blackboards have been used so much they are turning gray at the edges. But the learning happens anyway because the girls are eager to study. It’s about giving these girls a chance to finish their schooling. We spend a lot of time on the basics and making sure they are ready for their final board exams. It’s a quiet, local institution that does its job without much noise.
